AAO Seeks Patients for Adult Hall of Fame

Invite your adult patients to join general dentists and other health professionals, a charter jet pilot, a world champion bicycle motocross racer, business leaders and others in the AAO Adult Hall of Fame at mylifemysmile.org. Any AAO member may nominate a patient aged 18 or over for the Hall of Fame, the purpose of which is to demonstrate that even adults in high-profile roles can successfully complete orthodontic treatment. Featured patients’ treating orthodontists are mentioned by name and city.
Adults are seeking orthodontic treatment in record numbers. The number of adult orthodontic patients increased 14 percent from 2010 to 2012, to a record high of 1,225,850 patients ages 18 and older. More men are also opting for orthodontic treatment. As of 2012, 44 percent of adult patients were male, a 29 percent increase as compared to 2010 survey results.*
